In the thread where the BA was discussing how 9mm and L, I'm too lazy to remember how to spell his name, were found out to be sockpuppets they said that they tracked the IP address to the exact building they were in. The EXACT BUILDING! Anybody else find that scary? I mean would you trust a psycho with the ability to track you down? Crazy huh?

no, unless you have a private ISP i can not track your building, i'm decent with computers but not that good, i can in general see your town, maybe a neigboorhood but not your house, but if you are posting from a university, company or a public library with their own ISP's i can narrow it down a lot further.
but as the two banned users proofed, if you just keep consistently using proxies/tor you can hide yourself pretty well, if your using those you could even be next door to me while i think you are on the bahama's.
that said, then you would be hiding from me, the black choppers are a different story, they can always find you...

also, tracing ip's is really boring and annoying work, esp if you need to find that few non-proxy ip's in a list of hundreds, trust me, i have better things to do than to try and find out where people live.
but yes, again, privacy on the Internet is an illusion, you can better go and fly post.

I have no idea what most of that means since I'm highly illiterate when it comes to computers but I'm glad there's like a one in fifty chance that you could pick my house out from my neighbors at best ;)1

Why would anybody break into your house unless you were rich or unless they knew they could get away with it? I'm more afraid of the tea party than the BA :p

You can still maintain a pretty good degree of anonymity on the net, takes work and education though.
People are welcome to know where I live. Any stalker who felt the urge to come up here and kill me would probably end up killing themselves well before they got the chance to take me out.

Lol the naivety! Poor people get their shit broken into all the time for little small shit too. That's the vast majority of the time I'd bet actually. My house got broken into a couple days before Christmas one year and they stole all the presents. Who the fuck is that evil!
No alarm systems. Best defense is some doors that are bolted on tightly, a good lock, a gun, bars on windows/doors, etc, etc. I mean I've even broken into my house a couple times, shitty houses are easier to break into.

Yes well I can give a friendly reminder or
an infraction. Guess it just goes to show the BA conspiracy is a nice guy.

Oh yeah just mildly curious question: why did those two get banned?
If you can't reveal that information with me, that's cool to.

What does it matter to you? It's not like you're doing anything wrong. Or do you have something you have to hide from the BA? If so, you can tell me, your secret is safe with me.
