Almost 50 inmates in two California prisons have died due to fungus/mold and medical officials recommendations to transfer prisoners is being ignored by the CA governor because of the new prison overcrowding law that says CA needs to reduce the numbers of prisoners in each prison. If they transfer prisoners out of these two prisons into other prisons it would mean thousands upon thousands of prisoners would be let free as the overcrowding would be unsustainable! My bet is the state will choose death for the prisoners in the contaminated prisons before they transfer the prisoners. The CA Governor is fighting any prisoner releases tooth and nail by saying he'll cut spending in other areas of the state to make sure funding goes to prisons so that no inmates are released. So that they can maintain 'safe' prison conditions.

Who are the people who have known about the cause of deaths and did nothing about it? They need to be, well, in a prison cell. Anyhow, this is potentially good news for non violent offenders. This is horrible news for people who have lost their lived due to the state placing no value on them.

I wonder how bad it has to get before the mass media acknowledges they are making excuses for an oppressive regime.
