so, what plans do you got for this day for tomorrow? it's pretty big here among students so i'm just back from the liquor store and i'll probably spend rest of the day in a class political psychosis ranting to engineering majors about 1918

tomorrow basically every single union and lefty political organization is having some kind of shit organized so i'm probably going to check out some marches and speeches at the central square here just to witness what an abomination the left here is nowadays

good couple of days ahead of me

I'm pretty disillusioned about the whole affair. Just seems like an opportunity for the professional activist left & institutionalized parties (like in Russia, probably the worst example of this phenomenon) to marshal their forces for an annual ritual with little in the way of excitement of subversion. There weren't any decent riots last May Day, either, except perhaps in Santiago.

I think I'll be going to Stockton if I can get a way out there. Probably won't be too big but it's a chance to meet others and stuff so what the hell, wasn't planning on doing anything productive that day anyways.

Putting up lots of posters for the protest on the other wednesday, long meetings and stuff.

Today was more like it, though. Lots of nice agitation work at the striking bus drivers' assembly at their union.

I went to work thinking I was going to be off at 12 which gave me plenty of time to go home, change clothes, get a ride, etc, but instead I worked a 13 hour shift which means I got off at 7. So yeah, I spent International Workers Day working my ass off ironically.

Ahh the song in post #2 is way too much memories of my childhood. My parents were big fans of this kind of music. While I mostly like it too, I agree this one is indeed quite creepy in some undefinable way.

As for Mayday, I was in Helsinki and took part in the main all-left march, after which I attended an open meeting of Sosialistinen Vaihtoehto (CWI sympathisers in Finland).
