Hey everyone,

I've long subscribed to socialist politics so I hope this forum will be helpful to improve my understanding. I'm from south England and I hold particular interest in international socialism and some of the "forgotten" figures of mainstream socialism.

I've been involved with the SPGB and it has been helpful and encouraging to personally know people with similar ideologies but I have little desire to join the party, and I'm not entirely in agreement with some of their ideals.

Anyway, I'm a bit of a writer (who isn't?) and it's an ambition to write books on figures such as Thomas Sankara, Amilcar Cabral, Maurice Bishop and Rohana Wijeweera.

Anyway, I'll mostly be around the Learning forum I'd imagine!

Thanks.

Welcome :)

If you have political questions, you can ask them in the Learning forum. That's why it's there after all!

If you have questions about your account, don't hesitate to send me a PM or ask here.

What "forgotten" socialists are you interested in?

There's a group called inspiring writers. Maybe you could get that group going again ;)

Thanks for the welcomes! :)

When I referred to "forgotten" I meant forgotten to mainstream politics, but not so much more committed revolutionaries such as there are here and on RevLeft. I've tried in vain to find books focusing on the likes of Wijeweera and Bishop despite their fascinating lives. Even for people such as Sankara biographical works are thin in the ground excluding the documentary film.

But as I say, very happy to be among other people and I hope this will be conducive to my understanding and engagement.
