In many districts there is a serious concern that many children will go hungry over the holidays. Amazing; and shameful. Also, the greasy fast food has to go; and the Coke machines should be smashed and tossed in the dumpsters.

Free school dinners are just an excellent idea all round and should be universally available.

I was lucky enough to go to a primary school which also did breakfast in the morning, where I learned the pleasures of a cooked breakfast with bacon, which was scrummy even if the stuff they served had these weird bony nodules in them. This was also the school where at lunchtime I could get away with having both a hot meal and a salad as well as second helpings.

I think it's an utter travesty that I was in a minority in that regard. I think all pupils should be able to take advantage of the things I did.

It drives me fucking crazy when people see others get breaks or perks that they don't get, and instead of thinking/saying "that's not right, I should have that too!" they're instead like "that's not right, you should be as miserable as I am!".
