I read that things are hot in France because of the discussion of gay marriage and adoption by gay couples.
Protests with fight against police, almost-fights in parliament...
Can anyone point to something about this?

What do you want to know exactly? The social-democratic president has moved forward on his promise to legalize marriage equality and thus adoption and therefore the reactionary wing has come out in force. This tends to happen in varying degrees of intensity depending on the nation in question. I attribute part of the violence in France due to NOM's influence in stirring up discontent yet we also must remember that France, I believe, has a solid neo-fascist presence; so I am sure those ultra-reactionaries are joining forces with NOM in order to build social-unrest against their progressive rivals.
edit: a recent Guardian article- "Violence Grows as gay marriage bill divides France (http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2013/apr/20/gay-marriage-france-violence)"

Many laws still discriminate against same sex couples in the United States, especially on the federal level. It is unconscionable that in many situations gay and lesbian parents are required to complete a second parent adoption of their own children in order to gain recognition of their legal rights as parents, when in identical situations heterosexuals are not subject to this requirement.
