I have a band. We're playing at a music competition in march. We'll be playing "Gimme Shelter" Rolling stones, "another one bites the dust" Queen, and "come together" beatles. it took me sooo long to find a drummer but i've finally got one! :D

do your lyrics have like a political view? Or are you selling out?
Jesus Christ

we write about what we feel like, political or not
not writing political lyrics doesnt mean selling out

I have a band called The Cuban 5, me and the singer write all the songs, most of mine have been Political, one about WW1 and two about Che. The Rest are about girls and depressing stuff :D
We have some mp3 if anyone wants to hear them, they are all live recordings so the sound quality is pretty shite.
I could also post some of our Political Lyrics if you want?

I have sung and played bass in several, but nothing recently. Ever since my guitarist ran away to Denver, CO with my girlfriend I've been a little reluctant.

I just started one, we're the BOURGEOISIE BASHERS! It just rolls off the tongue, ive got 2 guitarist, a drummer, a key boardist and me a bassist. We write communist things, i started because my friend started a cappie band, with songs like "its ok to be greedy", bush is the best, nazi krapola. I was so disgusted, i formed THE BOURGEOISIE BASHERS! thats my story

I'm in a band called "the Moneyshot!!!!!!!!!!!!!". We play really shitty music around town and piss off the "too cool for this coffee bar" crowd. That and emo kids. Either way, I've played too many instruments to list, here's our site though:

I play bass in a band called The Che Men. So far we have released one track "Kick Over The Statues" on the Redskins tribute EP "A Flame That Can't Be Dimmed".
We will be recording another Redskins cover "Keep On Keepin' On" in March with hopefully Redskins bassist Martin Hewes as producer. This track will be released on the Redskins tribute album which is due out later this year on Mad Butcher Records.

Play gigs, have had many paid. Also an amateur session guitarist with my recording mate/piano player. School got in the way, although when the drummer and probably the cornet player return from their music college we will get back into it.
Not really performed too much original stuff other than when busking, but we are largely improvised blues and a bit of jazz.
Rock band is probably more enjoyable though, the best days of my life are playing and singing classic rock pissed out of my head...evryone should have a band

i used to be bassist in a ska punk band but i got bored the repetitiveness of the basslines pissed me right off, i want to do head-pe/rage styled music only faster with political lyrics but i can't find any decent drummers cabable of jungle and jazz styled beats "fast and rythmic"

I'm doing vocals (haha). We kinda disbanded after 3 practises cos the drummer (and rehearsal space owner) moved to London to do a drum course.

My close mate's in this safe band called Chariots (http://www.chariots.tk). Their live show is out of this world.
In case you're asking, the style of music is chaotic emo. Haha.

cool!
Well, turns out we're performing on the 28th of february, which incidently is my brithday! :o (we've only gotten in one practise in so far, on last saturday, and lots of practise with my back up guitarist. we sort of arbatrairaly switch between lead and rhythm) but i'm going to ditch my bassist pretty soon. I'll be getting my own bass within the next coulpe of weeks, and my mom is buying me a peddle for my guitar.
anyway, my guitarist and I are into blues stuff, whereas my bassit was into this new commercialised punk crap you hear on the radio, not the good punk, just the cookie cut commercial crap. oh! and i'm auditioning thursday for a blues benifet concert! I'm so hyped about that one!

well, one week til we play! I'm sooo hyped though. I just got a mic and an amp to plug it into, and my guitar's bridge finally got fixed! I'm all set!
Oh yeah, on the topic of other bands, my band has been on the recieving end of some pretty irritating condescention. This crappy hard rock/emo/wannabe punk band has been mockin us, calling us a "little 60's cover group" so I've decided to just ignore it, and go see their gig thats coming up. I see no reason for us to be competative and mean to eachother. We should be supportive because we share a common interest... well, maybe i'm just a little too optamistic, i'm pretty sure no matter what i do, they'll still act the same way to me... don't care though, i'm in too high spirits to fret over that!
