That is awesome and beautiful. There are some abandoned places here in Croatia, but these look better than anything I've seen so far.

Although the Polish train depot photo looks more like a very good painting.

Edit: Željava air base on the border of Croatia and Bosnia - http://www.zeljava.com/eng/
It was built in 1968 and was one of the biggest underground air bases in Europe. It cost $6 billion and was destroyed by retreating JNA forces in 1992. There are mines around it and border police everywhere, so it's hard to enter.

i'm not dissing anyone who died or went through pain or loss in Chernobyl but i've always felt sad and in awe at the same time that a place could go from a sprawling city to a ghost town in a mere matter of days. In my opinion a certian mystique surrounds Chernobyl. I share these pictures not as a reminder of that horrible day, but as a place that means different things to so many people.
