The much touted state of war declaration is not a declaration of war from Kim Jung Un but rather a statement of support for whatever decision he has too make from the the government, political parties and organizations of the DPRK. It claims only they will declare themselves in a state of war WHEN their leader makes that decision showing they are completely behind him. It is a statement of support from the people and perhaps a warning to the South that the North will not fold under their attack. But not a declaration of war from Kim Jung Un.
This fucking capitalist news media is beyond illegitimate and ridiculous. My god, if there was ever a time when I thought there was a modicum of respect to anything mainstream, including the fake left alternative newspapers like Huffington, it is completely gone.
This whole operation; the government, the companies, the media, the alternative media, etc. It's just bananas. Plain bananas. They make the world feel so damn nilhlist sometimes. Sorry for the mini-rant but nothing seems the least bit legit anymore in the main, nothing.

I've heard that the South Korean government was caught in an ethics scandal over top government officials having an orgy, and this whole stunt is a way for them to rattle their saber and gain some support from the public.

The article links to another supposedly showing that the picture of assault plans against the US was photoshopped.

They could have simply hung it there for the second photo, for one. Second:

"Roughly the same distance"? Look again, the chairs in front of the map/screen show that the 'assault plans' are clearly way closer to the table.
It could easily be proven that it's photoshopped if you look up the original, which had to be published by official NK news agency.

Welcome to the meeting. My name is Crixus and I'm a realityoholic. It's been about ten years since my last read of anything mainstream.

Given the context and name of the link I could have sworn I'd be re-directed to a porn site there.
With each passing day this North Korea stuff is getting more and more redundant. I've probably heard the phrase "the north has cut it's last tie with the south" about 6 different times in regard to 6 different inncidents since Febuary.
Admittently I did find this interesting though: http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/390452/North-Korea-to-launch-missile-TOMORROW-after-warning-foreigners-to-evacuate-South??
Anybody know how credible it is?

North Korea is talking about what's going to happen if they're attacked. This article is just more out-of-context sensationalism.
Notably, the warning is conditional, and should not be interpreted as a demand or order. Speaking to the New York Times, North Korea observer Brian Myers said “the international press is distorting the reality somewhat by simply publishing the second half of all these conditional sentences,” referring to how literally some news outlets are treating the current “crisis”.
“From watching North Korea’s evening news broadcasts for the past week or so, the North Korean media are not quite as wrapped up in this war mood as one might think. The announcers spend the first 10 minutes or so reporting on peaceful matters before they start ranting about the enemy,” Myers said.

Still not nearly as bad as when they mistranslated Ahmadinejad to make it sound like he was on the verge of nuking Israel. I don't believe for a second that that was a mistake - you can start wars with articles of that nature.

Or how they made it seem like Hugo Chavez was a dictator that could aid terrorists.

It was hilarious when Santorum implied that Chavez was aiding Islamic socialism in South America during the Republican debates .

We tend to think of regime change operations and initiatives as a signature or hallmark policy of the Bush administration. But we have seen under President Barak Obama a persistence of the U.S. policy of getting rid of those powers it finds uncooperative around the world. To clarify what I mean, after Kim Jong Il passed away [in December 2011], the U.S. and South Korea launched the biggest and longest set of war exercises they ever conducted. And for the first time it openly exercised O Plan 5029, which is a U.S. war plan that essentially simulates regime collapse in North Korea. It also envisions U.S. forces occupying North Korea.
What is routine during these war exercises, which are ongoing right now, as we speak, is they simulate nuclear strikes against North Korea. These workings are a combination of simulated computer-assisted activity as well as live fire drills. Last year, the first year of Kim Jong Uns leadership, a South Korean official was asked about the O Plan 5029 and why he was exercising this regime collapse scenario. He said the death of Kim Jong Il makes the situation ripe to exercise precisely this kind of war plan.
Its almost impossible for us in the United States to imagine Mexico and the historic foe of the U.S., Russia, conducting joint exercises that simulate an invasion of the United States and a foreign occupation of the United States. That is precisely what North Korea has been enduring for several decades.
