Sweatshop labour in underprivileged countries as well as privileged countries has brought pay increases up, while downtrodding those who work in these factories..

Firstly, why is there no international law (seeing how its on an int'l level) against this?

Furthermore, why doesn't the past Presidents of America do something about this, as there are thousands of sweatshops within their own country?!

Is it all b/c of the politics behind it?

My main question is...why?

Any answers?

Firstly, why is there no international law (seeing how its on an int'l level) against this?

because the ones running these factories are the ones who have the most say in almost every government

Furthermore, why doesn't the past Presidents of America do something about this, as there are thousands of sweatshops within their own country?!

Theodore Roosevelt, the only US president I can say I like, had tried time and time again to put an end to these sweatshops, as well as break down big business, but with little success, due to the overly rich US government at the time
Also, the time period in which he tried this was a very industrial period, and anything less than a sweatshop was unheard of
