Depends on what you're looking for?

Well, if you are looking for romances I could put you up for some Gorki, it's some pretty cool stuff.

If you can speak spanish, getting into Gabriel Garcķa Marquez is a must, Roque Dalton is also cool. Those are poetry, by the way.

If you can read Portuguese or get your hands on a translation, Jorge Amado has some nice short novels that were translated in many languages back in the 1970's.

If you specified more what you like to read, maybe I could think of other things, but these strike my mind immediately.

I would also like to add Steinbeck's Grapes of Wrath. Awesome book.

Pick anything by Steinbeck, Orwell, Upton Sinclair, Emile Zola, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Dalton Trumbo, Studs Terkely, Kurt Vonnegut, etc.
