Well sort of anyway, it's pretty hard sticking to 5 words!
Socialism:
System where government owns everything
Communism:
System where government owns everything (but says the workers do)
Anarchism:
System where people run everything

Here are a few I came up with for socialism and communism
Socialism: Democratically planned production for need
Socialism: Democratically planned production and distribution
Socialism: Economic forces under humanity's control
Communism: Like the above, but moneyless
Communism: The abolition of private property (whoops I copied that one from you know where)
Communism: No classes or economic inequalities
Well sort of anyway, it's pretty hard sticking to 5 words!
Socialism:
System where government owns everything
Communism:
System where government owns everything (but says the workers do)

Hmm? Hey Q, is this "reply" considered trolling? I can't tell... one word replies that add zero value to discourse usually seem to fit the bill... in any event, the original poster asked for a 5 word definition of socialism. My understanding of "socialism" is it is the epoch of the withering away of the state and classes. I'm sorry you disagree, bud.

You must remember that this is a forum where the authoritarian left have the power, and they do not like it when the libertarian left expresses their beliefs. The fact that you were warned for troling proves this.

I once asked one of my religious friends to describe heaven. He replied (and I'm paraphrasing) "It's nothing like this world, and if I try to describe it in this world's language I would fail every single time. In fact, you and I can't even Imagine how beautiful it is, let alone Describe it in mere words." and my view about socialism is somewhat similar. We can say things like equality and freedom, but at the end of the day, a truly socialist world would be way more beautiful than that.

Development toward negation of class.
Slavoj Zizek's Balls
11th May 2013, 12:56
Why do you say that?
Because communism is one of many future possibilities. Society has many different routes of development from this very moment in time, not just one. It could recede into what Luxemburg called 'barbarism', it could evolve from it's current stage into a more advanced form of capitalism (which itself can branch off into differing categories), or it could be slowly eradicated/ended by a revolution along with a lengthy development towards communism/anarchy (the society).
Humans are certainly capable of abolishing the status quo and achieving a classless society. There are examples of miniature societies that have to exist under capitalism but promote equality and co-operation. If these societies can exist, not to mention the past existence of primitive communism, why can't we do the same but on global scale and without capitalism?
