Hey there. Names Chase. Was lurking for a bit, rather liked the site so here i am. Not really sure where i'd be tendency wise, perhaps libertarian marxist (I agree with his critique of capital fully, but often feel the dictatorship of the proletariat has the potential to become a plan old dictatorship.) Anyway, here i am.

Welcome :)

If you have political questions, you can ask them in the Learning forum. That's why it's there after all!

If you have questions about your account, don't hesitate to send me a PM or ask here.

Just noting that a "dictatorship of the proletariat" (that is, a political hegemony of the working class), in the classical Marxist sense of the term, implies a radical democracy as the working class is a vast majority in all of the core capitalist countries.

So, genuine democracy is the start of socialism, as it is our class the has political reigns. On the other hand, today we don't live in a democracy but in an oligarchy with some, hard fought for, democratic concessions (like freedom of press, freedom of opinion, freedom of association, etc).
