The Spanish revolution

I set into my mind to try to find out how the anarchists organised parts of Spain(early in the war I believe) during the civil war,
I tried to find out about it and went down to the local library to find books about the civil war. the war had been completely ignored by the library and it was impossible to find any books about it. A librarian found some 3 dusty books for me. After reading the books I found that they all avoided the topic I looked for on them. They only mentioned it in the passing. can someone provide a good link to me about the working organisations in barcelona etc.

[The Role Of Ideology]

For news of the Spanish revolution and specifically life in Barcelona during the war I 110% recommend you read 'homage to Catalonia' by George Orwell. It is his account of the time he spent fighting in the Spanish civil war and his account of the events of the Barcelona anarchist uprising.

It is a tremendously entertaining book written by a socialist with great descriptions of militia life and life in the collectivised and communal Barcelona under CNT (anarchist) and POUM (communist) control.
