But why aren't the governments protecting us? Oh yeah because they are a bunch of assholes. Anyway it doesn't really surprise me.I hope that will teach us to not mess with schizophrenic people. We are being watched...

I don't know if you follow that guy's writings or not, but he's a really good commentator on tech topics. I read his website occassional ("Schneier on Security"), it's good.

Article is pretty pessimistic, though. The whole deal about corporations spying on me doesn't bother me all that much, actually. Their reasons for spying are banal. In regards to the state, yeah they have a large capability for spying, but they're also vulnerable by virtue of the same technologies...I think that this article (http://c4ss.org/content/17078) puts it somewhat well.
