View Full Version : Protest chants

A pretty simple idea-we should compile a list if protest chants here for any members wanting to learn new ones (like myself). It would be nice to have a bigger repertoire than what I currently have, and I'm sure many beginners would agree.

I'll start with the few I know.

"No cops, no KKK, no fascist USA"

"Pigs are everywhere, freedom nowhere"

There are several about cops being invaders that I liked, can't remember how they went though.

Best one I've ever encountered:

"123 fuck the bourgeoisie
456 fuck the bourgeoisie"

Doesn't exactly rhyme but whatevs.

Simple.

Quote Neruda and continually shout " Come and see the blood on the streets."

no justice, no peace

this is what a police state looks like

homes not jails, housekeys not handcuffs

the movement will never die, hella hella occupy

fuck the feds, we don't need them, all we want is total freedom

from oakland to greece, fuck the police

no justice no peace

if we don't get no justice, you don't get no peace

Haha that one was fun at the DNC

---

"What do we want? Justice. When do we want it? Now. And if we don't get it? Shut it down. And if we don't get it? Shut it down."

"We are the 99%" (that one is boring though)

"That's bullshit, get off it, the enemy is profit. Disease and starvation will not be solved by corporations."

"Just like Ho Chi Minh, Occupy is gonna win."

"Ah-Anti-Anticapitalista!"

"Who's streets? Our streets."

I only know swedish ones. I'm not sure any even exist in finnish (my first language), people seem to march silent so I've never heard any, and I failed miserably trying to invent some at a protest in Finland..

If someone from Finland knows any I'd be grateful. Anyway, favourite Swedish ones:

Maybe best 'serious' one:

Internationell solidaritet - arbetarklassens kampenhet!
(International solidarity - working class unity in struggle!)

And the funniest one:

Vårat svar på monarkin - gör som Frankrike, giljotin!
(Our answer to the monarchy - do like France, guillotine!)

That last one is from the days when I was an anarchist, it's from some SAC mayday rally when marching past the royal castle.

We discussed using it with my current comrades but agreed that it kind of lacks the method of the transitional programme.

Yeah. For the record I'm not sure if the last one was an officially SAC approved chant btw, if such exist, but it sure as hell catched on

SAC is a quite large syndicalist trade union. I was a member for a couple of years, although not very active.

I know portuguese protest chants:

Esta dívida é do patrão, queremos dinheiro para a saúde e educação!
This is the boss's debt, we want money for health and education!

There is a fun one which goes by the rythm of kalinka:
Ai, não troika não. Troika não. Troika não.
Usualy we begin jumping arround when we sing this one.

O povo unido jamais será vencido
The people united will never be defeated.

Fascismo nunca mais

I've heard these in belgian anti-fascist protests :

"Geen fascisten in onze landen!" (no more fascists in our country)

"Pas de quartier pour les fascos, pas de fascos dans nos quartiers" (Give no quarter to the fascists, no more fascists in our quarters/areas)

"On lache rien, on lache rien!"

"Los fascistos, hijos de puta"

Remember there's stuff like Bella Ciao and El Pueblo Unido Jamas Sera Vencido.

We do the same in spain but istead of troika no, is nazis no.

"Geen fascisten in onze landen!" (no more fascists in our country)

That reminds me of a very good antifa chant in spain:

Nazis no, X (town, state, country) no es un zoo.
Nazis no, X isn't a zoo.

Since we are a very international movement many of our chants are non dutch or translated from non-dutch many comon ones are already mentioned above, some others are;

Solidaritee avec le sain papiers (solidarity with those without papers)
Voor de vrijheid, voor het leven, nazi's van de straten vegen (for freedom, for life, swipe nazis of the street)
Achter het fascisme staat het kapitaal, vecht voor je vrijheid, internationaal (behind fascism stands capital, fight for your freedom, internationaly)
Ihr habst den krieg verloren (german for "you lost the war" shouted at nazis)
Raf, pkk, autonome antifa
Politie, fascisten, staatsterroristen (police, fascists, state terrorists)

These are from the forward on climate rally I went to:

5-6-7-8 Overthrough the bourgeois state!"

There were also a few very similar to ones already posted so I'll leave them out.

Che, Zumbi, Antônio Conselheiro! In the fight for justice we're all comrades!

Fred mellan folk - Krig mellan klasser! = Peace between people - War between classes!

Organisera! - Expropriera! = Organize! - Expropriate!

Stalingrad, Stalingrad, varje minut en nazisoldat! = Stalingrad, Stalingrad, every minute a nazisoldier!
(In Salem during the biggest northern european nazi-march for many years we said "Salemgrad" instead)

Vi vill ha sex, vi vill ha sex, vi vill ha sex timmars arbetsdag! = We want six(sex), we want six, we want six hours work day!
(In swedish sex both mean the number six and sex, so it sounds first like "We want sex, we want sex"...)

De rika, de rika, vi måste bli av med de rika! = The rich, the rich we must get rid of the rich!

Fallskärmsavtal kostar hundratals miljoner, en kula i nacken bara några kronor! = Goldenparachutes costs hundreds of millions, a bullet in the neck just a few kronors!
(first word can be changed to other things)

Socialdemokrati - Klassförräderi! = Socialdemocracy - Classbetrayal!

AK4, AK5 - borgarjävel hälsa hem! = AK4, AK5, bourgeoise-bastard say good bye!
(AK4, AK5 = swedish military weapons)

Mörda ett borgarbarn - Släng en bomb på Stureplan! = Kill a
bourgeoise child, throw a bomb at Stureplan!
(Stureplan is located in the upper class area of Stockholm and is where the elite party)

Sharpen our offensive capacity!
Proliferate the commune; zones of opacity!

What? Whatever! Whatever singularity!

Le capital nous fait la guerre - guerre au capital!

Stand!Fight!
On!Strike!
Block the economy!
Sabotage the system!
Build our autonomy!

So, on the last one, black is group a, red is group b, and the green bit is all together. It was actually used relatively impressively by some Anglos during the student strike.

1, 2, 1, 2, 3, how many cops in the BNP?

We are black, white, asian, and we're jews,
We are black, white and asian, black, white and asian,
We are black, white, asian, and we're jews
And we're gay!
And there are many many more of us than you,
There are many many more of us than you,
etc. etc.

Build a bonfire, build a bonfire, put the Tories(/bailiffs) on the top,
Put the Lib Dems(/coppers) in the middle and we'll burn the fucking lot!

To be chanted at cops:
We had your mates at Millbank(/Stokes Croft/Tottenham),
We had your mates at Millbank(/Stokes Croft/Tottenham),
Na na na na, eh!
Na na na na, eh!

What do we want?
Full Communism!
When do we want it?
Now!

To the tune of Yellow Submarine:
We all live in a Tory's wet dream(/fascist regime), (a what?!) a Tory's wet dream(/fascist regime) (a what?!), a Tory's wet dream(/fascist regime)!

To the tune of London Bridge is Falling Down:
Harry Roberts is our friend, is our friend, is our friend,
Harry Roberts is our friend, he kills coppers,
Let him out to kill some more, kill some more, kill some more,
Let him out to kill some more, Harry Roberts!

The fash also sometimes chant that last one, but I think it's a sentiment we can all get behind.
