Hello to everyone. I have been reading this forum off-and-on for several years. Why I decided to join today, I couldn't tell you.
I'm a second generation New York Puerto-Rican who has lived in Central America since the 1980's. I come from a trade-union, independence-movement for Puerto Rico, blue collar background, although I am a college graduate. I work with the poor here in a town that has been historically the "reddest" in the country. I am a practicing Catholic and follower of Liberation Theology. I grew up mostly in the New York area but I spent some time as a kid on "the island" as we call Puerto Rico.
I would describe myself as an anti-imperialist who believes that only a socialist economy can bring social and economic injustice to the people.
