My concern is this: if they do bring the species back, is it even going to be able to survive in the wild? Many times species go extinct now because humans have either destroyed their native habitat or made it unsuitable through pollution, climate change, etc.
So a lot of species wouldn't be able to survive in the wild anyways unfortunately, because it's not the same wild anymore that they've evolved to live in, thanks to humans. I hope that this is not the case here, because I love animals and herpetofauna, and this seems like a particularly awesome species.
