Chris,

March 19 marks the 10th anniversary of the immoral and illegitimate U.S. invasion and occupation of Iraq. That invasion and occupation were waged based on lies, and it is now one part of the endless global "War on Terror," which is really a war OF terror being waged in our name for U.S. empire. And the devastation is far from over in Iraq. In fact, Iraq's pain has only intensified since 2003. (http://salsa.democracyinaction.org/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=lPn6SRr2XVkfnDT8FkBx%2BcJb8xccjeBi)

Tuesday, March 19

Meet at 4 pm at LaSalle & Jackson for sidewalk march through the Loop
Then closing rally at 5:30 pm at Federal Plaza, Adams & Dearborn
Join us when you can!

On Tuesday March 19 we will join with people of conscience around the world to remember the people of Iraq who have been injured, displaced and killed in this war of terror. From Iraq to Afghanistan to Pakistan to Somalia to Yemen to Libya-- we say: No More U.S. Wars and Occupations for Empire!

We have Bradley Manning to thank for much of what we know about the war crimes of the past decade. In fact, The Guardian (UK) recently published a special investigation (http://salsa.democracyinaction.org/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=I5MAl9%2FzY%2Bp5NXeL%2B4DnYsJb8xccjeBi) into the regime of torture the US imposed in Iraq that owes much to what he exposed.

But the Obama administration continues to ruthlessly prosecute Bradley Manning and has attempted to suppress his message by preventing him from conducting any interviews and even preventing transcripts of his trial proceedings from being made public.

Now, the Freedom of the Press Foundation has published his own words. Listen to this hero here (http://salsa.democracyinaction.org/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=MpN1cuPzjkZiN%2BXbVbfpgMJb8xccjeBi) and help spread his message across the Internet.

If YOU are not at peace with this country being a nation at war; if you want war criminals prosecuted, not heroes who act on their conscience; if you want an end to torture, not its codification; then join Chicago World Can't Wait, Veterans for Peace, Gay Liberation Network, and others on Tuesday, March 19! We will meet at Jackson and LaSalle at 4 p.m. and do a sidewalk march through the Loop, ending with a rally at Federal Plaza at 5:30 pm. Join us, invite friends (http://salsa.democracyinaction.org/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=yYgCIBtJOiWz1BvjpVtXF8Jb8xccjeBi) if you are on Facebook, and share this email widely!
