I found this three part alternate DC comic series called: Superman: Red Son. It's quite interesting. In Red Son, Superman's rocket ship lands on a Ukrainian collective farm rather than in Kansas, an implied reason being a small time difference (a handful of hours) from the original timeline, meaning Earth's rotation placed the Ukraine in the ship's path instead of Kansas. Instead of fighting for "...truth, justice, and the American Way", Superman is described in Soviet radio broadcasts "...as the Champion of the common worker who fights a never-ending battle for Stalin, socialism, and the international expansion of the Warsaw Pact." So far its great and one of my favorite scenes was Superman redirects a falling satellite that is about to destroy Metropolis despite the U.S city being a clear Soviet enemy and then he hears the cables snapping on the Daily Planet globe and as it falls to crush innocent american civilians Superman catches it and gives a young boy his balloon back. And the comic read his thoughts and it said something along the lines of "Ideologies did not matter, what mattered is that a innocent human was in danger and my duty is to keep the people of this world safe. Soviet or American". So what do you guys think of this?

Loved the way it aligned the super heroes in the context of the Cold War. It wasn't about socialism all that much, considering the way Superman handled his leadership of the USSR, but at least it doesn't plaint some propagandic picture of what it was historically like. One of my favorite graphic novels, it inspired my username.

Well, anything that doesn't talk about chips, energy drinks, iphones and anything else in malls can be stimulating I guess...

The comic was good for the most part but the ending left a lot to be desired.

That comic was just a sweet way to tell kids that communism is evil and capitalism rocks.

It's the only good thing Mark Millar has ever done, which leads me to believe it was actually ghostwritten for him by Grant Morrison.

I torrented it. I think they are called motion comics, maybe action comic, but i basically they use art from the comic, quasi-animate it and have voice actors, worth checking out.
