Can someone explain what it is and why it is a good or bad thing? Why is it associated with Foquism?

Does it mean the Party takes precedence over the proletariat's dictatorship or another system, or is it just the fact that other people have to emancipate the working classes? In this sense, is Lenin a substitutionalist since he believes in the vanguard approach?

Substitutionism is when you have a small group of people, whether a vanguard party, an affinity group, or a guerrilla army substituting itself for the mass action of the working class.
