The reabsorption of semen by the blood is the strongest nourishment and, perhaps more than any other factor, it prompts the stimulus of power, the unrest of all forces towards the overcoming of resistences, the thirst for contradiction and resistence. This feeling of power has so far mounted hishest in abstinent priests and hermits (for example, among the Brahmins.)
From Nietzsches Notes roughly 1880-1
Well I'm looking for thoughts on this. Do you agree or what do you think Nietzsche was trying to say. I am formulating my own opinion on his theory of will to power and trying to decipher his thoughts on religion.
Input basically.

Whoa there killer, I don't think there is much sound evidence on that, or we would all be taking semen injections. D: Besides, women don't have any, and they are just as capable as men.

Well my own view on this comment would be that this is one of Nietzsche's physiological ideas. He wrote many aphorisms and passages in which he linked the state of a human's mind and their actions to the state of their body. I would guess this passage is highlighting how one often channels our energy and thoughts from satisfying the body into other areas of life. Another example may be the Shaolin monks who believe that they can channel energy into areas of their body which means they can take a hit to the head with a metal pole. They believe that ejaculating releases energy from the body and so they abstain from sexual activity...
My own take on Nietzsche's views about Religion, and the Will to Power are probably quite unique in that I tend to make a positive, fairly liberal interpretation of his work which is quite opposed to the negative, conservative/fascist reputation he's been given.
