It is unfortunate, and a continuation of the gradual dismantling of the safety nets a lot of people rely on. The media has painted an image of those people as abusing the system and not "trying", and somehow gets people on the bottom fighting amongst themselves while those on the top go on their merry way dismantling these systems.

Honestly they'll be quick to restore the cuts in some form to defense, security, and infrastructure related areas, but I'll be cynical here and say they keep those outlined above permanent. Texas when they cut education spending said that it was a temporary measure they'd restore later, and now even with a surplus they won't do so.
