Hi everyone,

I am a Swiss journalist and I'm writing a piece about Golden Dawn. I find it very scary that this subject is not discussed much (the Guardian, the Independent and Le Monde seem aware of its existence, but the Italian newspapers, for instance, never mention it!) and that's why I'd like to hear from Greek people who are dealing with this every day. I mean, in Switzerland extreme right groups are a bit of a joke - they come out waving a Swiss flag every now and again - but the more I read about GD the more serious the whole thing seems. And didn't they just open a branch in Germany?

I'm particularly interested in their strategy towards young people - I heard there is teacher's association in Greece which is trying to prevent them from coming into schools, but I haven't been able to find them yet. If anyone has heard of this group, please let me know. :)

So, if you are Greek, or if you have something to say about the rise of European nazi movements, I'd like to hear from you! Let's make noise against these thugs!

Thank you so much!

Best wishes

Anna

PS - Sorry, I don't speak Greek, but I can correspond in German, French or Italian if it makes it easier for you! :)

I approved this post but as this sub-forums moderator and as an admin i encourage users that would participate to create a separate anonymous email address to have contact with (supposed) journalists.
Also be very careful with potentially identifying (let alone criminally implicating) information.
Ask the OP through PM for an email address and the name of the publication they are writing for and keep contact through e-mail only until there is a level of trust, if something smells fishy, walk away (and let me know).

Hi psycho,

thank you for approving my post. I understand it may seem fishy, but it's really not. :)

However, I understand that this topic is dangerous, which is why I encourage even anonymous contributions. I already have contacts with other journalists, academics and politicians, so I'm just looking for random statements on how life is in Athens right now. I read stuff on twitter, and it seems really scary. If any of your readers would like to add on that, in any form, I'd be very grateful. No need for names. :)

Thanks again.

Are you sure you're not a troll? Or a Nazi spy?

Seems quite fishy to me, journalists do not usually go onto internet forums and ask for information via the internet. There are many Fascist organizations that keep tabs and collect data on revolutionary leftists. I would strongly advise against it!
