I live in Canada.
On my mom's side of the family, there are many ethnic groups due to adoption. I have cousins from Jamaica, Arab cousins, North Korean refugee cousins, and more.
However, even here, in this country, there is hatred and injustice.
My Arab family members are all involved in activist movements to make for better social conditions in their communities. They are not communists, but they are fighting for social progress.
However, most, if not all of them, are on "no fly" lists. And one, in particular, is currently in prison without trial for suspected association to extremist groups and acts of "terrorism".
I know my family, and they aren't involved in terrorist activities.
Just wanting to let you guys know, the racism and reactionary fear due to 9/11, etc. does not only occur widespread and extreme in America, it is abroad.
