Profunc

I am John, and I'm known here now as Profunc (Prominent Functionary).
I'm from Canada, in particular I'm from the capital and political capital of the country, Ottawa. The leftist scene here is large, but radical leftism is the same as it may be in any other area. Minimal, but significant at best.
I am a Marxist–Leninist, but I have much to learn, of course. I know a lot about the ideology, I've been studying and conversing and attempting to be a Marxist–Leninist since 2007.
I became a leftist just by being interested in politics. At one point in time, I was even an Orthodox Christian and politically non-positional. With exposure in the real world, I discarded my religious shackles, and throughout political study, leftism just seemed most compatible with my new worldview. Which is basically materialism & determinism metaphysically, and world communism politically... just as I assume most people around here are.
I plan to be active here, although I'm not sure where I'll find my place. My main reason for using RevLeft will probably be to get clarification of any new topics I'm studying, to publish any articles or political columns I write, or discuss any controversial topics in order to change or reinforce my opinion of it.
I'm glad this place exists and I look forward to being a productive contribution to it.
