I enjoy lighting up a fag and having a wee cuppa cha-bags but fuck me I don't need to log onto Revleft to be reminded that every 15 fags I light up causes a mutation that could lead to cancer. Get it to fuck Admin!

I'm assuming you're referring to the stuff that comes up on the google adsense program. The admins have no control over what comes up there.

If anything this thread will make it more likely to appear, assuming the ads are even slightly targetted based on page content...

Like those two said, google crawls the page content and serves up ads it deems appropriate. The owner of the adsense account can define categories but the final decision is made by google's algorithm. There have been Tea Party ads in the past, haha ...

Google pays both CPC (cost per click) and CPM (cost per 1,000 views), so, indirectly, the people who provided the ad are paying revleft's server bill. So the Tea Party has indirectly funded RevLeft in the past. Hahaha.

I think it's a great advert. Sick, but necessary.

What an excellent, informative, and educational advert. We should have more of these. Death to tobacco!

I've gotten some amusing localized ads, everything from restaurant offers to weight loss programs to cuban dating (lol), as well as numerous tea party ads and back in local elections, to vote for my local Republican. For the restaurant stuff it came up because I look those up though, the others came up on location and who is paying for them in my area.

I use the neutral theme here though, the ads don't come up on that.

Does no one here use AdBlock Plus? It's a free add-on for firefox, a free extension for Chrome, and you shouldn't be using IE/Safari anyway... I don't think I've seen an ad on any website in over 3 years.

I use NoScript with Ghostery on full settings and CookieCuller with only a handful of sites set to safe, so, kinda, but if everyone started doing that it would hurt RevLeft's (already meager) ad revenue
