OK, revlefters: who do you think will win:

Best Supporting Actor in a male role?
Best Supporting Actor in a female role?
Best Actor in a male role?
Best Actor in a female role?
Best original screen play?
Best Picture?

and the dubiously titled "Best foreign picture" (as if foreign films can't win best picture)?

The leftist inside me wants Les Misérables, but the movie lover inside me wants Lincoln.

I don't know who will win, after all the Oscars are famously bad at picking the best films (most major award shows are though). Though if I had my pick from the nominees these would be it.

Best Supporting Actor in a male role:
Christoph Waltz all the way (though you gotta feel bad for DiCaprio, finally gave a performance worthy of a win and doesn't even get to be a nominee).

Best Supporting Actor in a female role:
Anne Hathaway killed it in Les Misérables, best thing about the whole film.

Best Actor in a male role-
Of all the nominees I've only seen Hugh Jackman in Les Misérables, but his performance was one of his worst in years imo, doesn't deserve to be nominated let alone win. Though I haven't seen Lincoln, knowing what I know of Daniel Day-Lewis, my money is on him.

Best Actor in a female role
I've literally haven't seen any of the films the nominees starred in. Though I'd like to see the little girl get it.

Best original screen play?
Moonrise Kingdom.

Best Picture?
I've only seen two of the nominees and Les Misérables was a meandering dud of a film, so obviously Django Unchained.

Amour was nominated for Best Foreign Picture & Best Picture. You can't say foreign films can't win best picture. Just because it never won yet doesn't mean it will never win. A foreign film getting nominated for Best Picture in the states is quite an honor.

(http://www.emanuellevy.com/oscar/oscar-history-foreign-language-films-as-best-picture-nominees-1/)Les Misérables looked great live at the Oscars.

Il Medico got a good bunch of the winners right. I got most of my list wrong.

I was surprised that Life of Pi won as much as it did. Argo won less than its critics making noise over would have indicated, and of course ZDT's lack of a real award (it only won sound mixing) will lead to the usual tirades of "liberal hollywood". I was hoping five broken cameras would walk away with an oscar for documentary, but sugarman beat it there.

Meanwhile in the Razzies, Twilight: Breaking Dawn pt II pretty much swept the categories.

About half of my list was right. I half approve of the Oscars for once as they picked the best from the nominees for the most part, the nominees definitely needed work though. I totally approve of Skyfall's wins, though Bardem was robbed by not getting nominated for BSA. Seven Psychopaths, Chronicle, and Cabin in the Woods deserved some love too. But hey, the oscars did a half decent job and, considering their track record, that's a goddamn milestone.
