Do any of you know of artists who depicted the terrible social conditions of Europe between the mid-19th Century (esp the Paris Commune) and the Great War? Any links etc. would be useful and anything by the Impressionists during and around the Commune (though I'm aware that many of them left Paris in this period) would be much appreciated. I'm looking for stuff that really didn't try to romanticise the region but portrays the worst of the conditions. Thanks in advance. :)
