The nazi punk scene saw it's heyday in the late 70's and 80's. One rather famous band was Screwdriver who although originally not Nazis or racists took a very different direction under Ian Stuart Donaldsons Nazi white power ideology. Someone in Derbyshire should really put a plaque on that brave tree that slayed down the Nazi scumbag :thumbup1:

White power bands do have a certain appeal to alienated teenagers who are looking for someone to blame their problems on. A guy who i had the misfortune of being in the same math class with in high school used to paint swastikas on his black binder with white out. He also sniffed the white out so go figure on that one. One time in a sort of stupid teenage act of retaliation i painted a hammer and sickle on his black binder with red permanent marker :laugh: . As i was abit of a known skeet he did not paint any swastikas on my shit :cool:

I was influenced early on by aspects of Socialism and i must give alot of the credit to the teacher who taught politics to us in grade 10 i think. He would write the 3 main political parties in Canada on the chalkboard in this manner:

PC

So it was fair to say that my old left leaning teacher and drinking, hash smoking and mushroom picking buddy led me on the path to Socialism. He was also about the only teacher we had who taught us how Newfoundland was really founded as opposed to the politically correct version which states that the Irish where nice enough to leave their home country and come over here to work on merchant ships and plantations as indentured servants (what a nice way of saying slavery) for the British. Our old teacher taught us of the governors daughter as well as the even more barbaric punishment keelhauling. He also taught us of the Masterless men society who where Irish slaves who escaped off the ships and plantations to live in the wilderness and they are frequently reffered to as a early example of a Anarchist society in Canada. They are legends in Newfoundland Irish history but sadly the school system here pretty much blurred them out of history.

So between my Socialist leanings even as a teenager, my support of Irish republicanism even back then as well as my leanings towards a Newfoundland republic i had very little tolerance of these teenage Nazis who had no clue as to what the ideology meant.

Anyway that was quite the ramble :rolleyes:
