I'm looking for something preferably electronic that is sort of mellow and also a little nostalgic or melancholy.
For some reason I'm thinking Clams Casino's I'm God so I'm accepting varying levels of mellow/nostalgic/melancholy

This is something I discovered recently, it's not exactly what you want, but kind of goes on the same line.

ruff sqwad's 'havana' is - and i always say this - the most melancholy piece of electronic music ever. i also find it very nostalgic, although i don't know if that's because i connect it with a very difficult time in my life (tho my friends always remark on how nostalgic it is, so...)

Both songs are emotional trance and are really nostalgic/melancholy:
I cannot post links as I do not have enough posts, but the songs are:
1. Sound Apparel - Sadness (Original Mix)
2. Infite - Alone in Another World (Original Mix)

For that wistful ambient feeling you might enjoy David Sylvian's aptly named 'Nostalgia'.

b-b-b-b-b-b-bump.
I've been listening to a lot of MF Doom n J Dilla's "Donuts" lately. Pretty much the best thing to get through work with.
Recommend me more hip hop along those lines. Doesn't matter if it's a classic that everyone knows or something more obscure.

I suggest checking out ''The American Dollar''. They're amazing, I would post links but I can't yet. Check out ''Time'', ''The Slow Wait (Parts 1 & 2)'' and ''Anything You Synthesize'', they can all be found on YouTube. The band only has a small following so they haven't been spoiled yet either

You've probably already listened to Endtroducing (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmzHRGoKca0) / Preemptive Strike (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yAwrHHafHwE) / The Private Press (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCZrAlpNVmM) by DJ Shadow, but those. The breakdown in High Noon @ 45s is great, especially if you got that shit on blast. For some stranger stuff, his Do Androids Dream of Electronic Beats (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8utTLaV-i4) is interesting. The Private Repress (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QaPMsENZZaY) (a remix album) is good, too; you'll probably recognize the Six Days remix (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVjHejFtRZU) w/ Mos Def, it was in one of the Fast and Furious movies.
Umm ... UNKLE's Psyence Fiction (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htvAIG30BGs). Rjd2's Deadringer (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p1aXSU7-1J4) (Haven't really listened to his later stuff so I dunno). When that album first dropped it was THE SHIT. The last (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rKh_1Us45s4) two tracks (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lo8JOci7trI) were what I dubbed my "mopping music" at this restaurant I used to work at about 4 years ago.

Not really electronic:

These aren't electronic either, but mellow and nostalgic (I guess for me because the "80s" music I remember was Americana Rock and R&B, not synths and New Wave):
