I wouldn't want to disapoint you. Other than the fact that I could probably have listed 2/3 to 3/4 of your list for you, I'm quite stunned that you listed The Sex Pistols. A PUNK record, this can't be the same Victor who has proclaimed over and over again that Punk sucks, has no value, etc, etc. Oh and don't give me anymore shit about punk if you like the Metallica album, Bon Jovi sucks but they still make a better Bon Jovi album than Metallica ever could.

That's about all I have time left for. Except Boston?? Oh I've got a story for you, but that will have to wait.

I hope I haven't disappointed you with my comments, have a nice day.

Not at all. You too. :)
First, Petey, I didn't mean to imply that Metallica are punk. I was typing my note at 6am so my head wasn't very clear.

Victor:

I wasn't being belligerent Victor, just recalling what you have said in the past.
See the selected quotes below. If you have any doubts that these are your words just do a search for "victorcommie" and "punk". You've pretty much only shown outright hostility and ignorance when it comes to the subject of punk music, so forgive me if I was a bit shocked that you listed "Never Mind the Bollocks" as one of the best albums.

Oh, and the Sex Pistols were never and never will be "classic rock". They are punk, not the best but they were still an inportant band and "Never Mind the Bollocks" is a landmark album not just for punk but music in general.

Victor's comments follow:
"I don't like punk at all however and i really don't see how you can put metal and punk in the same category. "

" I listen to about all genres of music except punk and variations thereof."

"Im wouldn't be talking about a lack of musical value if I listened to punk. "

"I know what is the criteria for characterizing something as punk, and I inherently dislike those characteristics in music. Doesn't mean I won't listen to "punk" bands with an open mind, but in general it's not my bag. "

"All genres of music, have a particular fundamental characteristic that allow it to be classifyied into that genre, and these characteristics normaly are not enough to judge by, therefore I cannot say which genres I like and which ones I don't. Punk is the exception. I do not like the fundamental characteristics of punk."

"I don't really care what type of punk, it all sucks to me. Especialy emo.

Punk, in my opinion, is a joke the British decided on to play on Americans. They all got together and said, "I bet Americans are so stupid, we can make millions from them if we can just record about 2 notes being played over and over and over while some agressive musicians shouts undeciphrable lyrics and beat their drums as hard as they possibly can."

they were right

later on American recoring companies decided to cash in on this.

later the Gap said "I bet Americans are so stupid, we can make millions from them if we convince them that in order to hate people who buy our clothes, they must buy clothes from a store called Hot Topic. We will open this store in every shopping mall in America and try to appeal to those suckers who listen to punk. Hahahaha we are geniuses!""

" I'm referring to the crap I've heard on the radio. I'm certainly not going to spend any money on CDs of anyone associated with punk. If all I've heard is "pop-punk", then I'll assume that it holds some similarity actual punk. In which case, I don't want to listen to any of it. I just don't think that punk rockers understand what music is. Shouting loudly is very liberating and releaves a lot of pent up anger, but it does not need to be recorded, please."

" I happen to think that punk rock is rather stupid. "

" I don't even like punk rock.
I don't understand it when all these punks say that they hate pop music, instead they listen to punk. This really escapes me since punk is just like alot of pop, except it's a bit heavier and more instrumental. The rythm is similar, the lyrics are vulgar as they are in pop, and the melody is some sappy and simplistic crap, just like in pop."

Frankenchrist is the sole Kennedy's album I have yet too listen too in it's entirety, so I cant really condemn or commend it. Speaking in general though I tend to enjoy their earlier stuff, sensing a general decline in quality as they aged, thats just in general though- their worst album in my opinion being Bedtime for Democracy

What's the problem?
bel·lig·er·ent - 1. Inclined or eager to fight; hostile or aggressive

I don't think this describes my actions and certainly not my intent. This is a discussion board so there is bound to be some disagreement.

As for what you like/don't like thatis up to you. But don't sit on your high horse when you've obviously spent a lot of time tearing into other people for the music that they like (punk).

As for classic rock, I like some of it, have listened to much of it and have formulated my likes/dislikes based on my extensive exposure to it.

Getting back to the Sex Pistols. I am merely shocked that you have such diametric opinions when it comes to music in general, and punk in particular, and yet you like the Sex Pistols. I can't be the only one who finds this a little odd, but promising none the less.

So again Victor it is all in good fun. Oh and remember, you asked for comments.

I'm not being mean to Victor, I'm sorry if it comes across that way. I might try and get a few digs in here and there but I harbor no ill will towards him. And like I said I think there is hope for him if he likes the Sex Pistols.

YEAH! Nice list Victor! the ones in the quote are my favourites too! I'm glad somebody knows who Zappa is! :D

I totally agree for your choice of stones albums. My top four are Sticky fingers, Exile on mainstreet, beggars banquet and let it bleed.

My other favourite albums are:

The band-the band and last waltz

stevie ray vaughn-the sky is crying (loved his version of jimi hendrix's "little wing")

anyway, i can't think and it's hard typing with one of the tuning keys of my guitar, so yeah...

Surely that can't be the only one. You ought to give X a try. Ray Manzarek has played on a few of their albums as well as produced a few of them.
"Under The Big Black Sun " is probably their best.

Brother Wayne Kramer was one of the original MC5 guitar players. Checkout his recent solo work, Hard Stuff, Citizen Wayne anda few others.
