It's interesting how the official definitions fail to cover the most serious problems. For example the official definition of dyspraxia is to do with poor motor control and physical co-ordination, but the lack of mental organisation and the poor short term memory tends to have a far more serious impact. Similar things apply with dyslexia and ADHD, people think that dyslexia is just about having trouble reading, or ADHD just means you can't sit still but it's actually much more complex than that.

I think that many of these 'disorders', like ADHD, have more to do with the interaction between the individual and society than the individual himself.
I tend to believe that most people with ADHD are just children from the working-class, who know, at least on an intuitional or subconscious level, that the things they learn at school, where ADHD usually manifests itself, mostly serves the upper class, or at least not serves them or their class. Or perhaps it's not just what they learn, but also how they learn it. The way they are forced to think and behave.

Me having ADD isthe worst ever. You can't see me running around, but al the other negative aspects.
I have a bad short term memory, a very very short attentionspan, way to much parallel thoughts, real bad planning, i procrastinate like crazy, never enough time, anxious, paranoid, i start new things almost daily and i don't always finish them.
That's the worst things. Yes there's more. In America ADD is well-known, in Holland though, i have to explain constantly.
In combination with my HIQ it can be really great in creative jobs (so i've heard), but reality is: i have a shitty job, doing mostly mindless work, have no friends (this shit alienates people faster than i can embarrace them) and i'm depressed every couple of months.
Oh yeah, my life is grand...thanks society. Thanks for not understanding...
