Technically we have pretty strict laws but they were neutered in New York Times v Sullivian. The only way it counts as slander is if their is malicious intent, and we all know that Glen probably believes what he says. Pity though, I think we ought to tighten them up a bit.

I can't help seeing a connection between the creating of redoubts like Beck's and the re-election of Obama. There is a sense of resignation on the Right and dismay with the voting public for their choice. Rather reminiscent to the despair on the left after the re-election of Nixon in 1972 in fact.
