I have been thinking for a while about how america is making tremendous progress on the space front and it is a cause for concern:(
The colonization of space is about to begin and we are about to take one small step in a journey that is going to occupy the imagination of the mankind for the next few centuries
and the bloody capitalists will be the first to go into deep space.
They will loot and plunder the planets.
Already i belive american corporations are selling plots on the moon!!
and i thought the moon was for the entire benefit of mankind.
I think in the coming years if you do not have a space program in place you will perish on earth that will include all the third world and poorer countries.
I think all third world countries should unite to form a space agency which will ensure their place in space.

Actually, NASA is on a shoestring budget and they no longer use the shuttles.
It's more profitable down here on earth <_<

mining opperations and tourism are the most immediate lucrative options for capitalists, who don't want to pay their taxes. Since they're the ones with all the money if we want to make sensible use of the universe I guess we'll just have to take the money from them.
forming a space programm of third world countries would be negligent of their govts. when their people are homeless and starving, don't you think.

The only Manned Space program the Americans have is handouts from the Russians, the Russians have de facto control of Space. The Americans are going nowhere fast in Space, they are only interested in Star Wars but their Science is so weak that it cant support their war plans. Did you ever wonder what the real purpose of the Columbia mission was? A disasterous start to a disasterous war!

FYI:
The Association of Autonomous Astronauts
http://www.uncarved.demon.co.uk/aaa.html
The days of this society are numbered. Its reasons and its merits have been weighed in the balance and found wanting; its inhabitants are divided into two parties, one of which wants to build its own spaceships and leave this world behind.
The Association of Autonomous Astronauts (AAA) was launched on April 23rd 1995 as the world's first independent and community-based space exploration programme. A Five Year Plan was also established for creating, by the year 2000, a worldwide network of community-based AAA groups dedicated to building their own spaceships.

Apparently just in the last few days Bush has revealed his eventual plans to create a moon bas from which to launch manned missions to Mars. Is there oil there or something?
