Racist murder in the neighbourhood of Petralona, Athens covered up by mainstream media and the police (http://blog.occupiedlondon.org/2013/01/17/racist-murder-in-the-neighbourhood-of-petralona-athens/)

In the early hours of January 17th (at approximately 3.20 AM) two Greek men aged 28 and 24 attacked and lethally stabbed a Pakistani male, aged 27. The two tried to ride away on their motorbike, but thanks to the neighbors who shouted and kept track of their license plates, they were arrested soon thereafter.
Both the Greek police and mainstream media are trying to play down the murder, claiming it came as result of a dispute over traffic priority (!) In response, the movement united against racism and the fascist threat (http://www.antiracismfascism.org/) is calling for a demonstration today (Jan 17) at 6pm, at Merkouri Square in Petralona.
The murder comes only two days before January 19th, the day of the Athens: Antifascist city (https://www.facebook.com/19JanuaryATHENSvsFASCISM) demonstration.

Murderers of 26-year old Serdar Yakoub had stash of Golden Dawn leaflets in their house (http://blog.occupiedlondon.org/2013/01/18/murderers-of-26-year-old-serdar-yakoub-had-stash-of-golden-dawn-leaflets-in-their-house/)

Following up from the news of the racist murder of 26-year old Serdar Yakoub in Petralona (http://blog.occupiedlondon.org/2013/01/17/racist-murder-in-the-neighbourhood-of-petralona-athens/), it has now been announced by the police that the house search of his two murderers revealed three folding knifes, one pen knife, one black blade with a special handle, one air gun, one set of brass knuckles, many (sic) metal pellets, two wooden bats and one slingshot.
Crucially, the police report also states that the house of one of the murderers contained fifty (50) leaflets of a certain political party even though it has been leaked that the party is Golden Dawn, the police refused to reveal the information officially. The minister for the police, Nikos Dendias, accused SYRIZA and KKE (which issued statements against the murder) of petite-politics and dangerous games that aim at destabilising political normality. By not stating that the murderers were connected with Golden Dawn, Dendias is openly covering the murderers and the Nazi party alike.
It goes without saying that, unlike many cases in the past (including the seropositive sex workers (http://blog.occupiedlondon.org/2012/05/04/16-hiv-positive-sex-workers-are-jailed-and-pilloried-by-the-greek-state-and-mainstream-media-as-discourse-in-the-country-takes-a-purely-nazi-turn/) and many anarchists (http://blog.occupiedlondon.org/2011/03/15/539-anti-terrorist-unit-raids-see-six-arrests/)) neither the names nor any images of the murderers have been released so far.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see more and more of this.
