Seems like a bourgeois politician, however perhaps one with a very good social conscious. I'll repeat whats been repeated over and over in the Chavez thread. Socialism cannot be brought about, piece by piece, through administering the bourgeois state.

Allende had a vision which makes him the only exception, which ended with him being killed. In general though there isn't such thing as a "progressive bourgeois." The idea of a socialist entering the bourgeios state should be to be an instrument in its destruction, not its strengthening, like the Bolsheviks and the early SPD did.
