Hey, I'm new to RevLeft and I want to jump right in. My knowledge of leftism is marginal at best but I'm looking to change that. I know a little bit about the history of the USSR, Marx, The Cold War etc.
If anything I don't have a tendency at the moment and it might stay like that for a long time but who knows. Since I was young I've been extremely interested in Che Guevara, Fidel Castro and The Cuban Revolution so that's all I really have to go on ideologically for now. For Christmas I bought myself a few books which are, The Communist Manifesto, Capital 1, 2 and 3 by Marx, a biography of Stalin by Adam B. Ulam, Guerrilla Warfare by Che Guevara, A Revolutionary Life by Jon Lee Anderson, Red Heat: Conspiracy, Murder and the Cold War in the Caribbean by Alex Von Tunzelmann,
The Bay of Pigs (Pivotal Moments in American History) by Howard Jones,
The Brilliant Disaster: JFK, Castro and America's Doomed Invasion of Cuba's Bay of Pigs by Jim Rasenberger,
Arab Spring, Libyan Winter by Vijay Prashad, The Essential Works of Lenin (edited by Henry M. Christman) and finally and english version of Imperialism and the Revolution by Enver Hoxha (which was present from a friend who said it was printed in Tirana in 1979). If anyone has read any of these books a review would be appreciated. I hope you all make me feel welcome :p

What would you claim your ideology is?

I'd have to say I'm in the introductory phase. If I had adhere to a school of thought then I'm a Marxist. I want the abolition of Capitalism as a whole along with a classless, stateless egalitarian society.

I would suggest you to first get active or get in a group (not the revleft groups) and talk with them before you get a tendencie.

That might be a problem, there is not much of a leftist scene where I live, mostly just pseudo left wing nationalists who I despise.

That was some Christmas. All I got was a razor and shaving foam :D
You have somewhat of a poetic username...do you envision redemption as a winged creature? A skylark or an eagle?
And welcome :)

I loved Arab Spring, Libyan Winter! If you want to learn about the Middle East and what happened there and what you should know in order to make some educated predictions then that book is definitely for you. It is one of the better books in my collection.
Jon Lee Anderson's biography of che was also fantastic! It is entertaining, informative, and extensively sourced. It is a good buy.
I'm actually reading Capital Vol 1 right now myself. If you want to discuss anything just message me.

Getting small things like that are why I love Christmas, I'd rather have something I actually need like a new pair of socks (you can never have enough) or a shaving kit instead of an extravagant waste of money.I got my username from a friend, he was really stoned and got into a discussion with me about the curse of King Tut's tomb  The inscription on his tomb reads ''Death shall come on swift wings to him who disturbs the peace of the King'', so I mindlessly blurted out Wings of Redemption :) And I think there is some big YouTuber with that name too.
