Is it true that Huey had a luxuoriuos penthouse apartment he bought with panther funds? or even with his own money did he live like that? cause im reading War Against the Panthers and he states that the cointelpro dudes were tellin people that but he doesnt deny it. Did he have an expensive apartment he called the "throne"

hey..i read that book also and remember that part. He defended himself in many parts of the book but not at that part.

i doubt he called it the throne, but it could be an apt. which he shared with other people, or maybe he had money on the side.

i'm curious to find out more about this also.

Huey did live in a Penthouse for a period of time. David Hilliard in This Side of Glory says something that Huey, who had just been released from jail, couldn't just stay with the other Panthers because he would be an obvious risk, meaning that police and government officals would be out to kill him, so they looked for another place to put him.

"A penthouse is avaible for $650 a month. Huey visits the place and we find a contributor for the payments so the money dosen't come straight from the Party's coffers. The Throne, we later call it, and Huey stations a telescope in a window to check up on his old home across the way."
