View Full Version : Counter-recruitment propaganda
Questionable

Some friends of mine are joining the army (One is looking for a civilian job and another plans on a combat role of some sort) and they're trying to convince me to.
Naturally I will die before I do that, but what is some counter-recruitment materials I can offer them when they try to tell me how awesome the military is for someone just out of high school? Besides the obvious shit like the American army being a tool for international capitalism.

Do they like Hip hop?
Obviously kinda superficial given that it's just a song but it does give quite a convincing argument against army recruitment.

Destroying property isnt immoral so long as it's bourgeois property, but over all it roughly gets the point across. I think you'd have more luck just talking to them though.

While we're on the subject, perhaps someone more knowledgeable can help me out.
Military recruiters came to our school senior year and told us all that we could join the ROTC and the first year of college would be absolutely free as long as we attended some sort of physical training, and we could quit before the beginning of the second year without paying any of it back, no strings attached.
Is this bullshit? I know it probably is, but I want to make sure because this is a big part of what swayed my friends.
