How brainwashed were people in the 1st world compared to people in the eastern bloc? How about the third world? Can people escape being brainwashed? Is mind control really good for people (or bad)?

Also, how about today? Which nation has a bigger cult grip on it's population? Cuba or the US?

Brainwashing? I presume you mean how many people follow the cult of personality? In Cuba, there are flags in the street, posters of che etc. in America, you swear allegiance to the state every day as a child, brainwashing? Saluting of the flag is common and then you have the "god bless America" and other things, so I would say the US

I would regard all forms of Nationalistic-Indoctrination to be forms of "brainwashing" as it is engraved from birth. As too who is the worst of this is hard to determine from my perspective as they all come from an absurdity of "State-Worship"

Well from my perceptive all forms of nationalistic-indoctrination would be considered "brainwashing" as it is engraved from birth. As too the worst offenders, Hard to determinate. Although eastern bloc from what I hear had secret police forces aiming at political repression (stB in Czechoslovakia and Securitate in Romania).
