A little success for feminism with you!
I don't know if any of you at UK universities have had these 'Spotted in the Library' facebook groups come up. Basically they are for telling someone you like them anonymously. Started out innocently enough, you know, some people posting cute/funny/sweet messages and so on. Predictably, it became a 'hey to the smokin' hot girl in the pink top i'd love to bang you...' etc etc etc.
Anyway, a group was started to petition people to send, individually, messages protesting the state of the group (which by now had thousands of likes and messages so was getting a big deal) for later this week. By yesterday evening, the group had been taken down and the usual idiots had come out.
Somebody referred to 'private educated, middle class feminists wanting to turn the university into an authoritarian marxist state'. :lol:
But we got the last laugh because the group was taken down and the misogynists ended up with egg on their faces as their sexist comments became rather non-anonymous. Success for anti-sexism! :)
