As some of you may or may not know, the past few months have seen 0 NHL hockey being played because of yet again another lockout. This has been the third work stoppage for the NHL in the last 15 years, and this year over $2 billion has been lost in revenue between the owners and the players. Yesterday however the lockout ended and hockey will resume once again, with a brand-new 10 year Collective Bargaining Agreement. The terms of the new CBA are pretty interesting and theres more information here: http://www.forbes.com/sites/kurtbadenhausen/2013/01/07/nhl-lockout-is-over-but-will-the-fans-come-back/

By the way I wasnt sure whether this was more appropriate for the Sports section or workers' struggles section.

The strike pissed me off to no end, but I felt like the biggest hypocrite in the world as an anarcho-syndicalist type thing just wishing people would stfu and get back to work.

I'm an Oilers fan from younger days, but have pretty much stopped watching, which is border line sacrilegious where I'm from. Billionaires fighting with millionaires over money? Meh, I don't have much sympathy.

Seems like the NBA, NFL and NHL have all had lockouts recently.

A clear erosion of the rights of the pro athelete proletariat. ;)
