I've never seen that before. That's very odd. Does anybody actually know? Dachsund, does it really mean "equality" ?

It definitely means equality, but I'm not sure of the origin or how widely used it is.

Used in the 1980s a lot around the anti-apartheid struggles. We (me and my punk mates) used to use it as being synonymous with 'anti-racism' (though in a radical-liberal way not a militant anti-fascist way, becasue we were weedy art-school punks and would have crapped ourselves in a fight with the fash). 'Equality' makes perfect sense.
EDIT: having looked at 10 pages of 'anti-apartheid' google images, I can't see a single (E). It was used 'round our way', honestly...
