I'm a left-communist who has been espousing the ideals for quite some time... glad to be part of a community where I can discuss the nuances of my political stance (it's difficult to narrow down ideologies when there is so little discourse and I'm stuck arguing with myself all of the time).

Philosophy is sort of my thing...so I'm looking forward to the philosophical debate--personal favorites include Wittgenstein, Russell, Korsgaard, Singer. I would consider myself somewhat of a moral skeptic, but given the necessity of action, util seems agreeable to me.

I'm going to school to be a research physicist, heading to college next year (waiting on acceptances with fingers crossed) and plan to make some substantial contribution to the field.

Welcome! All the best physicists are communists!

"I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy, accompanied by an educational system which would be oriented toward social goals. In such an economy, the means of production are owned by society itself and are utilized in a planned fashion. A planned economy, which adjusts production to the needs of the community, would distribute the work to be done among all those able to work and would guarantee a livelihood to every man, woman, and child." - Einstein
