Get some bricks, and put some planks on top of them.
That or you can actualy try to nail those planks together to make some sort of bookshelf like structure.

There are a lot of options depending on your material and skill. scaffolding wood is so popular the used stuff is now more expensive to buy than new boards. Im becoming a furniture carpenter so if you have specific questions feel free to ask me.

Building shelves or a bookcase is like, literally the easiest thing on earth to do. Even someone with zero carpentry skills can do it, all you need is some sheets of wood, a skil saw (or something else to cut the wood with), a tape measure, a pencil or marker for taking measurements on the wood and screws/a screwgun.

The milk crates are for vinyl LPs, if you still have any!

If you're in the US you can probably find a cheap bookshelf at a thrift store or a Goodwill store or a Habitat for Humanity ReStore (those places are awesome, tons of cheap stuff to do DIY house stuff with).
If not, or there are none around you, check your local craigslist page in the 'free' section. The 'furniture' section has cheap stuff too.
Failing thrift stores and craigslist, you can find plans to build bookcases on http://www.instructables.com and http://www.reddit.com/r/DIY

Complaining about things being unorganized? What kind of anarchist are you?

anarchy is not chaos. and even chaos is not disorganised, it's just an organisation we don't understand yet.
as for bookcases, if you work somewhere that gets products in wooden crates, just take a bunch of the brace beams, drill a hole through each of them, and insert a long piece of metal or PVC (a shower bar, minus the ends, would work great for this.) cut the pipe down and superglue/epoxy the holes closed. you now have a side. make five of them and then cut them, fasten them in place (one on top, two on the sides, and one in the middle.) this is now a bookcase that will withstand a LOT of abuse.
