Hello, RevLeft. I share many of the views regularly espoused here (communism, anti-fascism, etc.), but am taking the time to post in Opposing Ideologies to invite the community at large to something you may take an interest in.
This Saturday night, there will be a live news discussion chat session held in a Tinychat room. This is part of a series of similar chats that have been held, with one key difference.
This session will differ from the previous ones in that I have invited multiple groups to attend. On the roster are:
4chon.net/new/
/storm/
/pol/
RevLeft
Stormfront
Ideally, this will give us a good mix of Stormfront's white nationalists, RevLeft's leftists, /pol/'s libertarians, /storm/'s National Socialists, and /new/'s gaggle of complete idiots.
Essentially, past sessions have been held only on one website, so there wasn't much in the way of real disagreement or learning to be done. Almost all of the regulars are roughly on the same side of most issues. I have decided to invite RevLeft out of respect for your best thinkers; although I try to play Devil's Advocate as moderator of the room, it is difficult to defend ideologies you lack the conviction to properly represent.
Topics covered throughout the night will include the military-industrial complex in the U.S., atheism, Libya, Google's international legal battles, the Eurozone, economics, race, and case studies on the successes of Maoism and Socialism exemplified by Peru's Shining Path and Greece's Golden Dawn.
Essentially, if you come into this chat, you are likely to get offended; everyone will be. This chat can be very productive however, as most of the people present from sites other than RevLeft have never been exposed at length to real leftists, and thus are unfamiliar with many of your arguments and the reasoning behind them. This is your shot at vastly improving RevLeft's street cred, as well as getting some new members. I know for a fact that several non-RevLeft users with an interest in the ideologies prominent here will be there as well.
Are any of you interested? I can provide you with links to a full listing of the topics/articles to be discussed, in addition to the room itself. It will begin at 8:30 PM, Eastern Standard Time, and probably last from one to two hours.
