It is when it portrays the issues of women's rights as cultural and a bunch of white misogynists in the west are given the opportunity to pat themselves on their back and consider themselves to be so superior to the "savage brown and black people" of the world while their sons go around cracking jokes about rape and being apart of 'rape crews'.

The situation in India for women is probably worse than it is in many "western nations", though. I mean, although gender issues persist in just about every country, there are various degrees of "bad", right? Unless the position of women in society in, say, Canada is the same as it is in Saudi Arabia...
