Hi there, I'm Lesley. I'm in my 20's and have traveled a lot of the world. I've been apolitical for a lot of my life (well, I've been a vegan since I was 15), but after a great epiphany about 2 years, I've realized how much racism, sexism, poverty, animal abuse, discrimination against gay people, and just general injustice exists in the world. At first I became interested in Left politics through a guy I dated when I lived in Brooklyn, but never really put much thought into it and had some really bad experiences with some (definitely not all!) of the pseudo-Anarchists (not naming any names, but there are a few bad apples people who think Anarchy is about doing drugs and treating womyn like shit) of that area. :cursing: I'm also partially Greek, although I know little to nothing about my roots (my dad died in a car accident when I was a baby), but what I do know is that it's a disgrace that the Golden Dawn neo-nazis are rising over there and right wing politics are growing around the world!
I lost my job in NYC a few months ago and had to move back in with my Grandma in Chicago. I hope I can contribute to the discussions, make new friends, and network with comrades here!
