Communism, anarchism, doesn't matter.

So, most leftists agree that a final communist/anarchist society would be the pinnacle of (direct) democracy. However, what would happen if people of some place vote to do some very non leftist things.

Like, the majority people of a place vote to, say, kill all homosexuals. Or, some town in south America votes to get rid of all Mexicans. Or some Middle Eastern muslim city votes to continue treating women like cattle. etc. How do we deal with stuff like that? It sounds like a big problem that could easily happen.

Sorry if this is a stupid question.

I guess the simple solution is a people's constitution, stating that any violence, defamation, or erasure against a certain minority of people, whether by race, gender, sexuality, religion, heritage, or so forth to be strictly prohibited.

Any attempts at voting for an anti-democratic measure as the ones you've listed would be denied. In the U.S, people are practically religiously obsessed with the constitution, so I doubt that this would be anything near inefficient.
